This is totally my Mom. Her dad died when she was small and she has told me that she does not want to get close to anyone, including her own children, because "everyone I get close to dies." I'm sure this has affected me. I wonder if THIS is part of the reason I also am "disconnected" as
Bookwyrm put it.
