I know how you are feeling right now.
There is help and support in AA. And people who have been through this will be able to help you work out how to approach things with the doctor. Are you in the UK or the US?
In my area there is a 24 hour AA helpline where anyone can speak to someone just to have someone to talk to if they are desperate and feeling alone.
