((Minute)) - I abused opiates, but never became addicted or went through withdrawals. My DOC was crack.

However, from what I've read here, opiate withdrawal usually takes at least 7 days before you start to feel better PHYSICALLY...the mental and the lethargy may last for a few weeks longer. Find another doctor..one who can help you - they're out there.

Your body is used to the drugs...it's rebelling against not having what it's used to.

From what I've read here, drinks like powerade, or gatorade are helpful to keep yourself hydrated; warm baths for muscle aches...your legs are going to hurt like crazy; immodium for the diarrhea.

Though it may not seem worth it, reading here, staying addicted is DEFINITELY not worth it and if you get through this withdrawal period, you never have to go through it again.
