Kelly, once you're through this hellish time you never have to experience it again. Alcohol was my poison of choice, but the withdrawals sound just the same. My skin was crawling, I couldn't settle down, just kept pacing - horrible thoughts that I couldn't turn off. The worst of it was over in about 2 days.
