I can relate to this too.

Since giving up drinking, i find i go out less, i avoid situations where people will be drinking, and that means i avoid a lot of stuff!

I only do stuff that i really want to do and where alcohol isn't involved. I guess i'm slowly building a new life that's alcohol free.

Some people can go to social events where people are drinking, but i just can't - it does my head in. I might be able to one day, but not now.

I feel though that i'm learning to really appreciate things more and enjoy things on a deeper level. Or at least on a different, more real level.

For example it's so much nicer to meet someone for coffee and a good chat, than to meet someone, get drunk, talk rubbish, and not remember what you were talking about the next day.

It's difficult at times and can be lonely but it's part of the journey towards a new life - imho of course.

I think the main thing is doing what's right for you. If you feel you should be getting out more, then perhaps you could give that a try.
