I am in a fantasy football league with a bunch of buddies and several of them I will be seeing on Sunday at the tailgate party. Our league has a message board and yesterday I decided to post a message telling all the guys that I had quit drinking and asked for their support. I wasn't sure what kind of reaction to expect. The first response came from a guy that I have been drinking with since we were in high school (1993). Here is what he said:
That is cool my brother. I am happy for you. I will punch anybody in the mouth that tries to get Jake to drink at the party. It takes a big man to say the things that Jake did. Jake has always been good to everyone of us. Lets back him and support him through the time that he needs us.
It was a huge relief to see that and really made me feel a lot better.
