I wouldn't worry too much if the Dr wants you take them after having surgery. Just take them the way the Dr. wants you too. I also think talking about it with your sponser or other's that your really close with is good too. Secrets will kill an alcoholic.
Now with me sometimes i share too much and my sponser warned me about that too. LOL
