I think the only time I have been embarrassed about talking to my Dr about my drinking was when he asked me "How's your drinking?" in the middle of an ermmm lets just say delicate "girls only" proceedure. Otherwise, I have never had any problems about it. In fact my Dr knew I was an alcoholic a good year before even my husband did. When I finally told him that I'd reached the end and was ready to stop - my Dr moved heaven and earth to get me the help I needed. I honestly believe that he has seen worse then me, and better then me. I believe especially in current society trends this is a more and more common problem. DO NOT be intimidating asking your Dr for help... Good luck, and I hope the Dr listens to your concerns, your problem and helps you to overcome it. Its their job!
