Well done! If you can unburden yourself by being honest, I think that is the best of all possible worlds. With the exception of not having to tell anything, of course.
Some people have circumstances where they are unable to be honest, and I feel for them. Now your cards are on the table and you can go forth with honesty and without all the hiding behavior.
Do you feel unburdened? Has a layer of anxiety been removed? I'm sure your lady will take some time to adjust, but then she has been adjusting without knowing it for some time.
