Isn't it a relief to hear they are still with us?? I know my daughter talked about rehab a lot, but kept saying it would have to be her way, she didn't want any pain or anything. Jail certainly seemed to help with her thinking and with the incentive to wanna quit. Methadone seems to be her answer, could Megan see about that??
When my daughter went to detox the 1st time....the worker there told me...imagine the worst flu you've ever had, bones aching, vomiting, diarrhea running down your legs, abdominal pains....then multiply that by 1000 and factor in the fact that the cure lies just outside your door!! So once I understood that fact, it helped explain why they are constantly looking for that next fix. They truely can't help it. My daughter kept a journal, and let me read it....every day, she thought about getting clean, but her day was so taken up with getting the next fix, she had no time to think about recovery. Methadone helped her with that. And as much as I didn't want her on methadone...I'll take it!!
