Man! I can't believe I missed this thread till now.
So many good memories before me.
I miss being a kid because....
I could walk and run on gravel and hot blacktop bare-footed without missin' a beat.
I could kick everybody's a$$ in jacks. I was The Jack Champion.
The ice cream truck. Just hearin' that music and we were off.
Going to the top of the neighbor's hill and rolling hedge apples into the road.
We called'em hedge apples, anyway. Those big green bumpy thingies. Kris?

Favorite memory of all...
I was 9 years old. It was summer and too hot to be outside. I was upstairs lying on my sister's bed. She was older, so she had the bigger bed.
The window was opened and the breeze was blowing the curtain. I was on the very last page of Charlotte's Web. I turned the book back to the beginning and started it all over again.
I read that book so many times, I could narrate the whole first chapter without looking. Now, I can only recite the first page. lol I still do it for kids that come into my work. I tell them that memory too. Man! I'm cool.
