I was at a five 2 days ago. Instead of "reacting" I prayed. I talked to a friend about it. I've let it go. What a relief that is.
Day 34

Mountainmanbob 06-05-2017 02:18 PM

I think that I have been holding for a while now at about a .5

Might have to be a Saint before seeing a 0

Best in a long time.

Bless you all,
Bob

Mountainmanbob 08-22-2017 05:10 AM

Seems that I have been staying at about a 1 average lately.

A nice sober day wished for all,

Resentful thinking I get a lot of, especially during stressful family interactions. still learning how to allow the toxic nests of these thoughts go completely and I'm good at holding things and turning it in on myself.
Time alone to relax, recharge & re-adjust allowing the mind to do what it does and accept that I still have a long way to go before I'm under full control.
Nice thread MMB

Good day today .5
and that would be towards myself.

Resentment level may be a process that takes time.

I think back to my ex wife.
What a rough unloving one at the time she was.
After our divorce my resentment level was close to 10 for a very long time.
I started praying for her to have a happy life.
Years down the road my resentment level towards her stayed low 1 - 2.
For many, many years now it has been at 0.
Saw her at my daughters wedding a couple of years back
we truly enjoyed each others company and had a great time together.
She and my current wife even did the girl dance thing together.
That was very warming for my heart watching those two.

This morning (another issue) resentment level hit a 1.
I have learned how to do fast work on that today -- dropped to .25 in no time.

A blessed day wished for all,
M-Bob

Day 34

Nice -- hope that you are still holding tight.

Wow -- family members can sure bring on some resentments.
Big family blow out last week at my son's house.
Not directed at me but, oh how we get drawn in at times.
For a few days I was fighting with a 3 to 6 resentment level.
Running a 1 or 2 now I think.

.5

Oh yeah... family members and pushing buttons.

Never liked my brother's wife. It's all about the money. Funny thing is they never earned it. The big bucks came from the wife kissing the ass of a relative for years. When the relative died the wife was in the will. Apparently the deceased relative was quite loaded. Worth millions.

Now my brothers wife is screwing up the kids. Heaven help the son if he doesn't measure up to her lofty expectations.

Fortunately my brother, sister and I live in different states. We don't have to interact that much.

So it's my understanding that Monks usually run at a 0.

Interesting.

.8 today up top the mountain.

I was at an 8 about 20 minutes ago when I was walking somewhere and ruminating😡. Now probably a 3. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

Good thread. I'm in early sobriety, which is when I've noticed my resentment levels are at their worst.

I have lots of resentment towards my ex-wife the past few days, but it's gone down slightly each day as I calm down in general. It was pretty darn near 10 yesterday morning.

Mountainmanbob 09-23-2017 08:14 AM

In AA they call resentments the
#1 offender.

As much as I would like to,
I cannot argue with that.

I have found that acknowledging my resentments and then doing my best to work them out of me with God's help at many times is what's best for me (and others).

Resentments not too bad today as it was a glorious day that I could spend with my family. An echo of yesterday's 8 (now maybe a 4) at times. It's my biggie that I have to let go but also the most complicated😣.

I actually heard a nice quote from the Dalai Lama today: "When you think everything is someone else's fault, you suffer a lot. When you realize that everything only springs from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy." I probably need to reflect on that.

Good night🙂

How things change.

9:50 AM jumping between 3-7.

Need at this time to
stay away from ones with the
glass half empty.

Running I think an average 1 lately.
Resentments are like a cancer.

Mountainmanbob 10-28-2017 06:25 AM

Seen a few two's lately.
Don't usually hang around long.
Usually less than 1.
Hardly never 0.
