Thanks a mil, Andy :thanks |
On a lighter note, I just experienced my first mindful fart. It really was something else :-) |
Andy, I just wanted to say thanks, and I am in. Not sure about the farting, though... |

I was reading about Neuroplasticity a while back...."Re-training the brain" ~ I'm glad it got brought up in these talks....my mind wanders constantly....has anyone taken the Myers-Briggs Personality test? I'm the INTP daydreaming in the background: https://s18.postimg.org/v9xfxewd5/MBTI_cats.jpg |
I'm also an INTP (borderline INTJ). Really like MBTI although some say there's too much variability with a couple of the indicators (situational) and not enough accounting for other aspects of persona (that Enneagram and the like account for). I also have challenges with sustained focus and haven't concluded whether or not it's post acute withdrawal or just ADHD. I'm pretty fascinated with the prospect of neuroplasticity; I've heard that mindfulness practice is *very* helpful for retraining and rewiring the brain. Anyone heard or account for this? |
I'm INTJ apparently. I'll look up what that means now. My Google has never been so busy since I joined this forum! |
Weaknesses of INTJs Their arrogance overshadows their positive points. Because of their strong belief in their personal opinions and abilities, they tend to be arrogant. ... They are judgmental and over analytical. ... They do not conform to a highly structured environment. ... They are incapable of having a good relationship. I always knew I was better than you. F you AVRTers. |
to be fair, I'm strongly I, but pretty borderline on the other three |
a thought for today from a Mindful bear (of little brain): https://s13.postimg.org/496tnnrtz/wi...vorite-day.jpg |
I've been taking drum lessons - my therapy, I call it. Turns out it really is practiced in addiction recovery....it helps get parts of my brain working that have been drowned in alcohol for so many years..... I also have a "Cognitive Reconstructing for Addiction" workbook that is collecting dust.....maybe I should dig that back out. Good stuff! :c017: |
I'm going to share this with my January class, Andy. Hope that's OK. Remember that plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery. |
