No smoking today. This is hard. I've Ben sucking on straws. It seems to help. Saturday I will have two weeks smoke free. |
mamahawk- I found mint gum or hard candy helped me in the early days. 24 more for me. If I don't smoke, I will never have to quit again. |

I agree with grtgrandpa... Almonds have been my savior! & lemon drops and butterscotch discs! :) Good luck! + 24 hours of no ciggs for me! -B |
AAAHHHHHH. I keep telling myself this is so much harder than when I quit drinking. Then I remember rocking back and forth in the tub for the first month waiting for the cravings to subside. Now I wouldn't go near alcohol. I just can't seem to let the cigs go. Whatever another 24 for me and Mr X watch out if you are on 35 E the next few weeks. |
No smoking for me today. |
Let's keep fighting the good fight........in this case freedom from those addictive coffin nails!:c011: |
I'll have another 24 in Maryland today. :) |
I'm still using the patches. Step Three delivers a very low dose. Yesterday, I totted up my spending for the past month. My expenditure on cigarettes and tobacco was ZERO. Long may it stay that way. I don't even want a tiny puff on a cigarette because I fear that will draw me back in. That's partly why I'm avoiding ecigarettes but if they help someone else to quit, all power to them. |
I'm in for another 24 of no smoking. Pulling for everyone! Endlesspatience: congrats on the money saved and the no smoking. Isn't it great to not be spending SOOO much money on cigarettes? And breathing better at the same time. |
I have to agree on the money. Between quitting cigarettes, alcohol and drugs, my finances are so much more stable. I have money for so many amazing things now. Before, I never could total up my spending because I knew where all the money was going and didn't even want to see a total for what I spent on that stuff. Now, I know where every dollar has gone since January. 24 more for me. :) |
+ 24 more smoke-free hours for me :) -B |
I just spent an hour tearing apart the garage looking for a butt. I didn't find one and had to chew a piece of nic gum to keep myself from going to get a pack. Why can't I let this go? I tell myself no matter how long I have made it in the past I always go back anyway so what's the point. This sucks! Now after 6 days I used nic again so... I'm going to bed. I'm going to try really hard to go the next 24 without smoking. |

+ 24 pls :) B |
Silentrun- I've been there. I can't even tell you how many times I tried quitting before it finally stuck for me. While I felt like I was stuck in a cycle of failure, I was actually learning. Eventually what I learned from quitting so many times added up and let me stay quit for a longer period of time (forever, I hope, but I can't predict the future). You could also look at it like no matter how many times you've gone back to smoking, you've quit again!! You want this and you are going to keep working for it until you get there. Make it easier on future you and make this THE time. If you don't smoke, you never have to quit again. 24 more for me. |
