Morning Weekenders, Reid that's a tribute ti how well you are doing, well done. We had a torrential downpour yesterday evening and the temperatures are well down. Autumn has arrived. |
I will be sober alllllll weekend again :). Weekends are so much easier sober....plus easier on my calorie count and health so I don't do anything I regret. |
|
Morning Kaily. |
Morning Weekenders Samantha, so true. No regrets when sober. :yup: It’s bucketing down here. I don’t need a weather forecast. If the cats come in when they’re usually out, it’s gonna rain or windy. Willow, it’ll be just about finishing time at work for you I guess. I hope you soared through the day on a wing. :) Nice pic Kaily, thought provoking too. Hi Reid :wavey: |
Thanks Mags, it was a pretty tough day, and the AV arked up on my way home, but I told it to nick off and it did :) Goodnight everyone |
Sorry you had a tough day Willow. |
Thanks Cityboy, it’s better now it’s Friday night and I’m off for the weekend :) I hope you’re having a happy Friday :) |
Enjoying the early morning cool air and taking some deep, aligned breaths before I head out for work. No drinking today. |
Morning Awake, hope it’s a good day at work. :) |

1 Attachment(s) Thanks for the thread , Mags! I have a picture of an eagle with a crow harassing it. But it's blurry to start with, and I have to crop away all the background to make it small enough to post. Anyway, here it is: |
This is not my video, but I've seen this drama play out at the beach more than one time. It's pretty exciting. |
Great pics. I thought we had nothing like that in London but something that must have been the size of a Pterosaur chose to use my car for target practise the other day. |
Hi, weekenders. Thank you for the thread, Mags. I am working this Saturday. Actually, I am glad - recently I've noticed I let in too much melancholy in my weekends. And it pays double, so extra cash won't hurt) Have a great sober weekend, everyone. |
well TFIF. I've worked 12 days straight - I was on-call last weekend & got called pretty much constantly - which is some handy OT but it also means I've been playing catch-up on sleep this week & have gotten a bit ragged & jittery the last few days. a few times the thought of having something to take me down a couple of notches has crossed my mind. but that's all it really does - I watch the thought come & I watch it go - I don't engage with it & it doesn't stick around. so Happy Friday Weekenders. Happy Long Weekenders anyone else with Monday off. :) https://twistedsifter.files.wordpres.../awkust-31.gif |
Looking forward to my second sober and productive weekend in a row! |
https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/...3031-720px.jpg Spotted one of the beauties today - a black crowned night heron. Only the second one I have seen. Thanks for the photos and videos, all. Nothing beats nature and it’s critters. |
It’s so good to wake up sober on Saturday morning. The AV has been trying to engage all week but I keep booting it out the door. This is my 10th consecutive sober weekend and I’m not going to give the AV any wriggle room, it can take a hike. Or starve to death hopefully if I keep ignoring it. Starved of alcohol and starved of oxygen as I rise up higher and higher. |
Power on, Willow. You are doing beautifully. Well done, Denny, on your second sober weekend. Hope you get some good rest, andyh. |

Glad to be part of this community...it reminds me the world is much larger than my emotions... |
PhoenixJ, that gator is hilarious. I am very happy that YOU are a part of this Community. Your presence here has enriched my life. |
Morning, weekenders. Having my protein shake and coffee. Off to work soon. No chance I would get up at 5 a.m to go to work on Saturday, got all my healthy meals prepared to take with me to the office, and the craziest part - really like this change in my routine- back in my "wining" days. Keep it up, keep it sober) See you. |
Morning Weekenders Congratulations Denny on your second sober weekend! :) Congratulations Willow on 10 consecutive weekends. The weekends will soon start flying by. My up: Leigh I love the pic of the heron. It’s a beauty. :) PJ, good to see you. Great picture but if I was a butterfly I’d wanna be on something less menacing methinks. Midnight, enjoy work today, it does feel better when you get paid extra for it too. I love that your all organised with your lunch pack up. :) |
Morning Everyone. Had a lovely time by the seaside for a couple of days, walked the coastal path and really enjoyed just getting out and away from the same 4 walls. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x |
Hi MantaLady pleased you had a good time by the sea. :wavey: |
Good morning everyone. Leigh, that bird looks like its feet are wrapped with fishing line or something? I once rescued a goose that was wrapped so badly in fishing line. (wasn't easy) The entire gaggle of geese then followed me back to my truck, as a thank you. |
Love the croc pic PJ. I agree with Lunar it does look like the heron sadly has fishing wire around his legs. Birds really suffer with that horrible stuff when left carelessly around. Here's one for Sao, it was parked at the local country park where they are building million pound houses. https://i.postimg.cc/NFJpbkYN/IMG-20...103110-616.jpg And this is a parakeet eating the sunflowers in my garden. Not the best as taken through the bedroom window. https://i.postimg.cc/WbgR6gGK/IMG-20...172240-797.jpg |
Croc picture great! Helps to start this morning. Feeling a bit of fall in the air. |
