Hi First time here and two days sober. Detox is going better than I expected. Day 1 fatigue, headache, and light shakes, Day 2 itchy What could I look forward to on day 3? |
different for everyone. I had night sweats and anxiety, mild shakes. Not much else. I was lucky. Lots have insomnia, lack of appetite, and lots more. Eat and get some rest and stay hydrated. congrats on 2 days. the first 3 and then 5 or 10 are, or were for me, the toughest. Just keep it up and the days will roll by. Next thing you know you are feeling great and your a non drinker. Welcome aboard. |
Welcome! Good job on getting through Day 2. Day 3 was full of anxiety for me and lack of sleep also. But, the anxiety will lessen as you move on. Things will improve soon. Try to get some exercise each day and eat well, drink lots of water and be kind to yourself. :) |
Congrats on Day #2! Keep going! Don't stop!!! |
Welcome FaithNotFear :) The first few days were hard for me but I started feeling better day 5-7 :) D |
Great to meet you, faith. You found a supportive, friendly place. Congrats on your 2 days free of it. |
Welcome to the family. :) I found the first week to be rough, but after that, it got easier. |
Many thanks! |
I have always been anxious and a terrible sleeper. Have slept better yesterday and today then I have in a very long time. |
First 2 days were worst for me. Day 3 I felt all better and back to myself (whoever that is). |
Welcome Alot depends on your profile but it definitely gets better after a week (my experience) Stick around Keep posting Vinny |
Welcome to SR, everyone's body is different so it may take a few days to feel ok but it will only feel better if we stay sober. |
Thank you! |
You hanging in there faith? |
Thanks for asking! Pretty good except the itching. Manage online church and ready to tackle laundry. How are you? |

Doing great. Got outside for some yard work because it was finally nice and somewhat warm out today around here. The wife and daughter came out and helped. Glad spring is here. I listened to online church also from across the room. I'm coming up on 10 months of not drinking and really I never think about it anymore. Its the new normal. |
Fantastic! Congrats on 10 months:) I am fairly sure I could leave the bottle alone. My biggest fear was getting through the detox. I had been drinking 2-3 bottles per day sometimes more. It just became a habit and something I needed to sleep. My plan is to stay sober for 30 days and then assess if I could be a one glass kind of girl or stay on the wagon. Again, congrats! |
