I think it was you Bim wrote one time something along the lines of 'I can't drink because it's biological...' I really think that one got engraved in me. I just can't.

This morning air temp 16°c and people in the Atlantic. I couldn't hazard a guess at water temperature. I've been in france too long. I plan on going swimming this afternoon as the sun has come out and it's actually getting hot... .

Keep the AV at bay everbody.

It was only when I re-read your post WeThinkNot that I realised the cruise lasted for 3 hours. I was originally thinking a week or something and thought "no way." Three hours sounds good though. Go for it!

There has been a few articles in the news about a British girl who fell out of a plane in unclear circumstances. I wonder if that influenced your dream MantaLady?

I had to tell some really great Aussie guys staying at my hotel about my alcoholism, we have been exchanging some banter about a recent cricket match between England and Australia (which wasn't easy as the Aussies thrashed us) and they asked me to go to the bar with them. If they had been a less convivial bunch it would have been easy but with them I think I might have struggled.

Visited the Mar Estate in the high Cairngorms today - stunning once I got above the midges line.

Glad you are making the most of your holiday Sao.

Likewise we had a good day I may have even got burned.

I'm not too familiar with County Kerry but it is a nice place and I'm happy we parked up here.

Just got back from ukestra practice. Very good today, we are all getting better. Stayed after with a couple of really good players, played a couple of tunes and discussed what to bring next to ukestra. I'm really enjoying where this instrument is taking me.

Just wanted to get one more post in before the new thread tomorrow. Went to my meeting tonight and it was great as usual

Night all.

Once again beautiful pictures, it is great to follow your holidays Sao and Vman.

Sao well done for being honest with your new found pals.

Thanks for the support regarding super cravings. I am under no illusion that I could moderate ~ not even for one day. When I was contemplating buying wine it wasn't one bottle but three. My mind dices with it, it sort of dares me to do it.

This too shall pass. :)

I think all countries should be more like yours STDragon - keep alcohol in separate shops and don't ram it down our throats. Give us choices.

Glad your enjoying your ukulele so much. Sounds like a lovely hobby.

Morning Weekenders

Kaily, when I was a kid there was off-licences where you bought booze, I remember going to buy beer for my dad! I don’t know how I was able to I was only around 10 or 11. :dunno:

Great pictures Vinny and Saou. Hope you’re having a great time. :)

Have a good day. :wavey:

Yes I remember off licences. And I too was often sent round to buy alcohol for my grandmother who I lived with. She would give me a little note explaining she wasn't able to come herself. What the note didn't say was that she was an alcoholic and too intoxicated to leave the house. She use to say "go and get my medicine, and get yourself some sweets for going". Wasn't long till I forged the notes and bought alcohol for myself or drank hers when she was passed out.
