I did wonder what happened to the others

If anyone’s interested I’ve been watching on you tube alcohol interventions, it’s amazing the difference especially in appearance for the ones who choose the help

That was extremely hard to watch. The agony, pain, and suffering not just by the alcoholics but by everyone around them. I dont envy that Dr either because you could see he was at his wits end and being out of ideas.

It made my liver hurt just by waiting the sheer amounts of alcohol the one younger guy was drinking in one gulp... at full 24 or so ounces just down the hatch. Gosh.

yes that was shocking how quick he knocked that back, and how yellow he was, i remember my cousin being that colour just before he died awful

At least Toni should have made it...

I've watched it before, watched the first half of it today. It's scary how alcohol can deteriorate you, so fast...

Mummyto2 04-05-2019 03:25 PM

Yes shocking, and Toni only 26 awful

I just watched this.

I’m so grateful to be sober.

Im going to watch this video now. I have about 8 hours left to get my Day 1 without a drink, I guess that my last one must have been about 3am yesterday.
Thank you so much for posting this link.
I am withdrawing, counting the hours, trying to follow suggestions. So glad to be here.

I remember watching this documentary when it was first shown on the BBC back in November 2006. I found it very moving and upsetting. In December 2007 Newsnight did a follow up special on some of the people who had been featured in the documentary and interviewed both Vanda and Mark. I never got to see that follow up, I just remember reading about it at the time.

I was told Vanda died in 2010, not sure what happened to Mark
