Profound personality change

Is required to get and remain gratefully sober with happiness, peace and serenity as the predominant state of being.

Recovery is all about change, inside and out.

Grateful to be sober.

Great insight.

For me, the part of my personality that was constantly negotiating, explaining, rationalizing - with myself and others - because of the ever present havoc of booze is no longer necessary. It's taking me some time to let the chatter settle down.

Peace. Man, can't put a price tag on it.

Addiction is insanity. The whole thing.

Now physically clean, I need to continue my lifestyle change.

Since I don't do AA, just SR, I emulate my non drinking friends and family.

We ex drunks can be like a snake shedding it's old skin, like a butterfly, like a child.

It is all good.

Unlearned drinking...such a horrid habit.

Thanks.

It's funny, as addicts we think everyone thinks addictively. Where most people at a wedding have a glass or two of wine and call it a day.

How true this is. Since I’ve been sober the only people I see who drank similar to myself are alcoholics. Says all I need to know really!
