My husband and I lived in a 960 square foot home that was ordered through the Montgomery Ward catalog in 1896, brought to the homestead by train and assembled, (not built) in one spot and actually was disassembled moved and reassembled to where it now stands. No sentiment for me (which makes husband sad) I actually hoped it would burn to the ground,,,

When my grandfather asked if I wanted the house when he died, it was tough to say no. None of us wanted it, though. It was a great house and still in good shape. Just too much for me, and I would have had to move to Central PA. It was hard to see it for the last time, though.

The day was draining because it was long—but my job was babysitting.
