THank you I think with it being the Easter weekend for some reason it hits harder I’m on my own as everyone has plans and is with family and I’m isolated today working earlier Another thing was that I sent my ex Easter flowers delivered to the house and did not receive a message to acknowledge that- maybe that’s triggered me off tonight It’s all going to be fine tonight I’m not going anywhere other than bed now. Maybe tomorrow will be better. |
stew....WHY did you send your EX flowers? remember you were just talking about moving FORWARD and letting the past GO......translate that to ACTIONS that match your words. speaking of family.........did you send your mom flowers? |
Yeah,man..no more 'gifts'. Shows 'weakness' and some/most exes 'ego feed' on that. NC is just that..you go ghost/vanish.. |

This is one hell of a rough ride. Drink does not define me- I’m better than that have a good sleep, tomorrow is a fresh new day! :grouphug: |
Good job posting here Stew. I've had days where the 9 minute craves seemed to last all day. I think it's not so much that I want a drink as I just want to feel better (not be in a funk, not be depressed, not be anxious, etc.). However, I'm almost always having a better day the next day. I have to realize that I would have those days even if I were drinking. I think you should treat yourself to some good food, take a nice shower or soothing bath and hit the sack. Tomorrow will be a better day. Don't brood about this Stew - you're doing a great job hanging in there and posting. |
Hang in there Stewy. I know the Easter weekend can be a trigger but you can do this. Try sleep it off if nothing else. Cocoonig can do wonders sometimes ☺ |
Just saw this, Stewy - I'm so grateful you didn't pick up. Holidays are rough in early recovery. You'll be so glad tomorrow that you don't have a hangover & the misery that goes with it. |
So,glad that you didn't pick up, Stewy. Well done. |
Stew, Your story and struggle is very very similar to mine so I'm really glad to hear you pulled through, everything does get easier |
I've never woken up sober and wished I had drank the night before. :) |
Great job Stew! Ya know something that helped me a lot early on was if I got cravings or the urge, I'd eat. I'd fill my belly with food. Took away the cravings almost every time. |
Glad you talked yourself through it Stewy - coming here and posting before you drink is a terrific thing to do :) D |
Hi Stewy, I'm glad you stayed sober, you will feel so great waking up tomorrow morning. As for the ex, you really need to let yourself move on, and sending gifts, visiting her mom, or checking her social media is just going to prevent you from doing that. I know it isn't easy, but you can do it. Focus that energy on your daughter, family and friends. You can do this!!! |
you know what? buy YOURSELF some flowers:) lovely idea!you deserve them! |
How are you this morning Stew? |
don't drink its that simple van |
Happy Sober Easter Monday! |
Hey, Stewy. Excellent to come here and not to drink. 7 days is awesome and you must move forward and continue. Keep that sober fire burning. Wishing you every good thing. |
