Hi I'm new - Day 1

Hi everyone. I'm sick of the red face and headaches in the morning. Tried before but couldn't make it stick. Reaching out to others for support. Thanks and God bless.

Hi Tom

I have never ever regretted giving up drink.
Start with a day at a time.
Keep busy at times when you would usually drink.

I remember my first day, 1st week, 1st month, 1st six months, 1st year. Each milestone made me fell 20 metres high.

If I can do it you can do it yep?

I wish you the best xx

Thanks everyone. The hours of 6-10 are the worst. I'm going to really try. I'll probably post on here when it's hardest. Even if it's just too "say out loud" to someone that I'm committed.

Today is day # 5. It's a struggle but each day I feel a little better. Very groggy today but will pull through. Stay on this site. It helps.

It appears you are using it correctly. Do you have a game plan as to how you are going to quit?

Hi Just Tom :)

I could never stay sober for long - SR was a great help to me in that way with the constant support and encouragement I got here.

The other thing I learned was the necessity of a recovery plan.
This link gives you a pretty good idea of what a recovery plan is and what it might look like for you
