Hi Pippo, I'm with you about remembering the bad times. I wondered what on earth people were going on about with the plan thing, but finally realised that my life was a lot easier when I thought out before I got into situations what I was going to say or do. |
Hang in there. You're a couple of days ahead of me, as I'm on day 1 of what are usually 3 day hangovers for me as well. Stick with it--keep posting. I'm going to try to post daily too for at least the first month. |
Welcome Pippo!! |

Yay! Awesome job. I have also quit smoking and quit drinking all in the last year or so. And wow you are doing them both at the same time. Anyways I can assure you that you will feel amazing, even more so than now, in another month. Thats when I really started to turn a corner. Great decision!! |

Congratulations Pippo!! |
Glad to read this. Just finishing a 3 day horrible hangover myself. Ugh. |
Congrats! How about a very simple plan? Here is my plan: 1. Wake up early enough to read and post on SR - get my head right for the day, and consciously say "today, no matter what happens, I will not drink." 2. Drink lots of water throughout the day. I love La Croix so that is my go to. 3. Create daily to do lists and cross items off the list. 4. If I feel awkward/uncomfortable/craving, first assess if I am feeling hungry, angry, lonely or tired. Suss out the cause, and look for ways to soothe it until the discomfort passes. 5. Spend a part of each evening reading and posting here on SR. That is really the nuts and bolts of my plan; it looks simple and it IS simple but it does boil down to "to get sober, you have to want to be sober more than you want to drink." (Quoting Least - another poster here) :) |

Alcohol and nicotine free since 13 days. Longest run in a while, especially with the smokes. Cold turkey. Going strong. :) |
