I've got a PhD and the 4 years study it took was a huge contributory factor (in many different ways) to my ensuing alcoholism. So try not to give yourself a hard time about it. There is a way out, it just takes some work. And if you can get a Master's, then you can definitely beat this. |
. Congratulations again!...Now for championing SOBER ENJOYMENT ! Specifically: "I want to work in a museum with interesting objects, and describing them properly so that people can (logically) find them in future. I like looking at weird objects, old photographs and letters, etc. that are important to history." That's outstanding leadership here... showing how specifically you'll like to endorphin your way today sober. I and many, also share such fascinations. Myself I also study antiques and collectables... including early 'computers', books, great art, and gems, etc. of museum quality. Searching for and enjoying them scoffs at common abuse. As part of my life they sooth me that I've an addictive personality. Along with the mere 7% that are US alcoholics; while 93% are 'normal'. Thanks for sharing with friends. . . bravo . . . . . |
Oh, I recall a old advisory professor who had most every liquor bottle he drank shockingly displayed on his office walls! As his badge of shame, warning, and guidance to students: . . . that is not the way! He was a great elder. Sober, and helping many; including animals. Bravo ! . . . |
