Takes losing family to finally go to a meeting!!!
 

My wife has had it. 10 years of hints she has been giving me. Sleeping in the other room, writing " I'm Done " in lipstick on the bathroom mirror, or just telling me she's done. Never listened or believed her. " How could she leave me, I make all the money and support us?" That was my stupid thinking. Never listened. I think at this point she would rather sleep in a cardboard box then put up with my ****. Wept like a baby today for hours. Didn't even know I could do that. Now I see here an hour early for a meeting. It may be a futile effort to get her back but I'm hoping it saves my life. Always said I've never hit rock bottom. Well here I am. 25 years of battling this thing, I'm ready to give up. :-(.

I'm glad you're taking action to take care of your life and stay sober.

However things work out with your wife, your life will be better if you're sober.

Going to AA is a good start. Going to AA, getting a sponsor, and working the steps is a solution. It is difficult to forecast the future of your marriage but one thing is certain. If you continue to drink things will only get worse but if you embrace AA there is a bright future. It will not happen immediately but it will happen

Pick up what pieces of life that you have left and attend as many meetings as you can, get a solid moral Sponsor and stay sober.

I have seen this work very well for many,many drunks that had made a firm decision to stop drinking for good.

They say it works if we work it ?
