Such amazing music this week! TRACH is back. Great to see you Sir. I love James... I think we could all use a little laugh. There are a bunch of these on YT. I have seen them all. |
I'm In!!! Morning Enders and Happy Friday!! Off to work, then the gym....should be home fairly early so I'm thinking about getting creative in the kitchen. Something seasonal and yummy and maybe even healthy ;) Hubs is on the last stage of sealing the garage floor (thank goodness). Who knew sealing a garage floor could be so complicated? Next, drywall (eye roll). Anywho, I need to come up with some good sober plans for the weekend! Lots of spare time on my hands as my grandson is on vaca with his momma. Canoeing tomorrow, so that's a start anyways :) Wishing you all a great day! Time to get caught up with the thread! |

Yesterday was a big day for me, so I thought I'd share it. Got sober a couple of years ago and figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up - a personal financial planner. It only took me 49 years, but I finally figured it out. :) I studied and got some credentials. I made a focus of tax planning and opened a tax business last year. I took over as financial adviser for a few family members and friends earlier this year. Yesterday I converted some tax clients into my first not-related-to-me (actually paying) financial planning clients. We had our initial client meeting. I explained how I planned to help them manage their finances and plan for their future, and they said, "This is exactly what we have been looking for." I am thrilled. That's a big deal for me. Over the age of 50 it gets harder and harder to get thrilled, but I am. I owe it all to SR for getting me sober, and a big shout out to the man who first told me to put my AV in a box and plug his air hole. (Our very own Weasel!) To anyone still struggling - stay with it. You have no idea how good it can get. :You_Rock_ AV in the box never gets old. Ken :c011::c011::c011: |
That is so awesome Nonsensical!!! |
Congrats Nons :) D |
Congratulations, Nons! Great stuff! I just turned on the news and am finding out what happened in Dallas. Just horrible. |
Morning/Afternoon/Evening all!!! Busy, busy day, then off for a week!!! Woo hoo!!!!! Going on holidays/vacation/jollies. Mr Nons, my sincere congratulations on your achievements!! B |
Morning All. |
Well done, Nons!!!!! |
great news nons... and Sim - when he's done there he can over to my place... the garage floor has been on my list for a few years now... and the basement... meanwhile I continue on landscape project - hopefully the thunderstorms go someplace other than here today... was gonna head out and get more wood this morning but thought I should just use what I have here first... but I do need it... for something that was an afterthought actually... the first 20 I got were actually the exact amount needed for what I was/am doing... hope you're all set to tackle the weekend - stock up on cool non-alcoholic drinks, I need to make another jug of tea.................... a song: |
Nons, many of us live an entire lifetime without finding professional gratification on the level that you describe. Congratulations. After a 12 hour day yesterday, I'll be skipping out of work early today to load up the car, pack up the kiddos and head out on our annual camping trip with some old friends. It's a weekend we look forward to every year, and it is usually a sober weekend anyway, so it should be a pretty stress free and fun filled time. |
Good morning eveyone! Happy Friday - Awesome, Nons....I agree that amazing things happen in sobriety. It's fantastic. Laundry in the washer, dog walk after a cup of coffee. Work, and then let the weekend begin. See you all later. |
Brain's Tip Of The Day: Don't stretch your arms over your head under a ceiling fan ;) |
Ouch, Brain! |
Morning Ceiling fan? I know, up/down switch. Saves energy. Got no use for 'em other than a stiff neck. LOL. You ok, LB? |
Oh, Brain! Ouch. I tend to do that too but I'm short. I hope you're OK. Nons, that's great news! Congratulations on making that transition. You can teach an old dog new tricks;) I'm glad you did it. It's been a long time coming. Username have fun and safe travels. I woke up thinking it was Saturday. Just one more day. Ugh. I find out today whether I'm being transitioned into a new position. For once in my work life, I'm in high demand. I'm not sure how I feel about this but it's going to happen. Change is good, right? |
My thoughts and prayers go out to Dallas and Brynn. Terrible. Nons, wonderful post. Ruby, good luck on the job news. Username, have a fun camping trip. I'm taking myself on a weekend field trip to explore a part of the state I've never visited. More later. Take care, everyone. |

Happy Vacay, Behan! |
decided I should have breakfast before I get to work... blueberries need more time on the bush, so I ran for strawberries for my oats... only one peach left but I'll save that for her. They had JUMBO cantaloupes on sale 2 for 5... they need to look up 'jumbo' in the dictionary... these were more like 'smallo' - pass ceiling fan was a near miss - just the tips of fingers and quick reflex action saved the fan... didn't hurt near as much as squeezing a half lemon into a glass yesterday with nicks and cuts all over my hand - ouch! but I do recall a time or two when I thought I broke the fan.. |
