I just wanted to post an update. Again, I appreciate all the kind and helpful words and wisdom from all of you.

I talked to my hubby yesterday. I told him I needed his help and I was upfront and honest about things. I won't go into all the details. He is going to be there for me, help me and support me however he can.

In the course of our talks I gave him my new plan to stay sober which includes him and meetings and more time given to my meditations, my church, exercise, filling time with my art instead of the booze... and I'm starting a journal.

I feel so good today that I let it all out with him. Told him stuff that I was afraid to tell him before but now that I told him, it's helping me so much because now he knows it all. No more hiding.

Whew.

Tonight, back to a meeting and I'm going to be open with people. Part of my problem is asking for help and letting people in.

So thanks again everyone, I'm done rambling now.

Yes. I committed to a "I will not drink today" promise each and every day just like coming on here and posting to the 24 hour thread. A text, email or in person promise. It's a start.

How did the meeting go?

Right now I promised to report each day that I plan to stay sober and just to talk. There's no pressure. He's helping me be accountable.

It went good. It felt good to be back. It was a meeting I used to go to so I had lots of extra warm welcomes from old acquaintances who were happy to see me back. :)
