Thank You world

I was not having a good day. I'm almost to the point of sitting down and crying day. Not very becoming of a 56 year old man.

I walked outside and looked up at the sky. The bright Sun, two Sun dogs and a halo greeted me.

Thank You world.

SoberLeigh 11-13-2015 11:11 AM

Aaah, the simple things in life.

I'm sorry you were having a bad day, trachs. Hope it continues to get better. There's the moon and stars for later!!!!

And there's always your buddies here at SR.

Anna 11-13-2015 11:20 AM

Trach, nature can always bring peace to us. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

Soberwolf 11-13-2015 11:26 AM

I love mother nature too trachs is everything ok you been there for me if I can help I'm there bud

BixBees505 11-13-2015 11:27 AM

Trachs...thanks for sharing. So encouraging. Drinking was numbness and blunted sensation. Sobriety is a lot of hard work -- but punctuated with pure joy. Amazing.

Saskia 11-13-2015 11:43 AM

Happy to hear you found a positive note, Trachy. As long as you can do that, you're doing well :-)

ccam1973 11-13-2015 12:11 PM

Sorry you're having a tough day Trach. Glad you could find a little peace this morning.

wehav2day 11-13-2015 12:52 PM

Sorry about the tough day, Trachy. Glad you saw something beautiful! Being outside does the same thing for me.

Keep swimming, buddy.

sleepie 11-13-2015 01:44 PM

 Trach.

What's a sun dog?

Ruby2 11-13-2015 01:46 PM

Glad your day is improving Trach. There are days that I feel like crying as well. Nothing wrong with it.

trachemys 11-13-2015 01:55 PM

A sun dog is one of those little everyday miracles of nature that we so often miss. It's a little rainbow. A circular spot to the left or right of the sun that can show some or all the colors of a rainbow. Caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere, there is the occasional up sundog, above the sun.

I've seen many, taught to look for them by my grandfather. Today was nice. One to each side of the sun and a halo around the sun for a little bit. Made my day a bit happier.

I could still crush pets, though. Foul, foul mood.

Hi Trach, I did not know they were called sun dogs...I feel happier just learning this phenomenon has a name... they are special...

Duffster 11-13-2015 04:27 PM

(((Trach)))

Quirky 11-13-2015 05:16 PM

Drunk or sober, I think we all have those days. Hang in Trach. I follow you regularly.

Cow 11-13-2015 09:22 PM

Dear Turtle,
It okay not to have good day. (At least I hope so, cuz I has that every day.)
And plus also, it okay to cry. (At least I hope so, cuz I cry every day.)
But you know who often prop me up ... ... oh, yeah, YOU.
If you ever say you not becoming of a man again, I punch you in you face.
:) Moo Mwah, Cow

Mags1 11-13-2015 09:30 PM

Trachs, I'm pleased you found some solace in our wonderful world. I didn't realise they were sun dogs either!

Olive1 11-13-2015 09:32 PM

A big smooch on your cheek, Turtle.
;)

Aellyce 11-13-2015 10:46 PM

I think that a 56 year old man who is able and willing to be vulnerable, experience a full palette of feelings, appreciate the little wonders of life and the physical world is much more mature than a 56 yo man with a distorted self and world view based on what we are supposed to be. We can't always have good days. I also like the way you express your bad moods: simple and to the point. I often place mine in an overly complicated context and cover it up with hodgepodge, when the simple truth is a crappy day.

In the meantime, I'll keep my pets safe :)

saoutchik 11-13-2015 11:14 PM

I hope your day gets better Trachemys

Trees39 11-13-2015 11:54 PM

Foul foul mood

BOO

Be gone.

MythOfSisyphus 11-14-2015 12:02 AM

I hope things have improved, Trach. As hokey as it is I find solace in nature as well. When I look up at the eternal moon I imagine all the people who've looked at that same moon before, over the countless centuries leading up to this moment. It makes my own problems seem small, temporary. It kind of puts my problems in context.

We're all here for you if you want to talk about why your day was so lousy. :grouphug:

Soberwolf 11-14-2015 12:51 AM

Hope today is better for you Trachs

trachemys 11-14-2015 01:18 AM

Thank you, people. I'm better today. Of course it's only 4 AM.

Myth, there was no reason for the bad mood day. That's just my life.

trachemys 11-14-2015 01:19 AM

.

Meraviglioso 11-14-2015 01:27 AM

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Days like that just plain suck and usually the best response is cutting it off early and heading to bed. Sorry to hear you are up so early though! I hope today is better for you.

Dropsie 11-14-2015 05:51 AM

Turtle,

The love you make is so much more than what you take.

Thank you for reminding me that even people as great at Trachs can have bad days.

And I would be careful of cow -- I bet she strong.

trachemys 11-14-2015 08:36 AM

You have no idea how strong Cow is.
