Thank You world

I was not having a good day. I'm almost to the point of sitting down and crying day. Not very becoming of a 56 year old man.

I walked outside and looked up at the sky. The bright Sun, two Sun dogs and a halo greeted me.

Thank You world.

Aaah, the simple things in life.

I'm sorry you were having a bad day, trachs. Hope it continues to get better. There's the moon and stars for later!!!!

And there's always your buddies here at SR.

Trach, nature can always bring peace to us. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

Soberwolf 11-13-2015 11:26 AM

Trachs...thanks for sharing. So encouraging. Drinking was numbness and blunted sensation. Sobriety is a lot of hard work -- but punctuated with pure joy. Amazing.

Happy to hear you found a positive note, Trachy. As long as you can do that, you're doing well :-)

ccam1973 11-13-2015 12:11 PM

Sorry about the tough day, Trachy. Glad you saw something beautiful! Being outside does the same thing for me.

 Trach.

What's a sun dog?

Ruby2 11-13-2015 01:46 PM

Glad your day is improving Trach. There are days that I feel like crying as well. Nothing wrong with it.

A sun dog is one of those little everyday miracles of nature that we so often miss. It's a little rainbow. A circular spot to the left or right of the sun that can show some or all the colors of a rainbow. Caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere, there is the occasional up sundog, above the sun.

I've seen many, taught to look for them by my grandfather. Today was nice. One to each side of the sun and a halo around the sun for a little bit. Made my day a bit happier.

I could still crush pets, though. Foul, foul mood.

Hi Trach, I did not know they were called sun dogs...I feel happier just learning this phenomenon has a name... they are special...

Drunk or sober, I think we all have those days. Hang in Trach. I follow you regularly.

Dear Turtle,
It okay not to have good day. (At least I hope so, cuz I has that every day.)
And plus also, it okay to cry. (At least I hope so, cuz I cry every day.)
But you know who often prop me up ... ... oh, yeah, YOU.
If you ever say you not becoming of a man again, I punch you in you face.
:) Moo Mwah, Cow

Mags1 11-13-2015 09:30 PM

Trachs, I'm pleased you found some solace in our wonderful world. I didn't realise they were sun dogs either!

Olive1 11-13-2015 09:32 PM

A big smooch on your cheek, Turtle.
;)

I think that a 56 year old man who is able and willing to be vulnerable, experience a full palette of feelings, appreciate the little wonders of life and the physical world is much more mature than a 56 yo man with a distorted self and world view based on what we are supposed to be. We can't always have good days. I also like the way you express your bad moods: simple and to the point. I often place mine in an overly complicated context and cover it up with hodgepodge, when the simple truth is a crappy day.

In the meantime, I'll keep my pets safe :)
