I really needed to read this today.

I need it a lot too....

I actually cried a bit re-reading it.

I realize how frequently I am cruel to myself....

And how wounding that is.

In sobriety I've been learning to be kind to myself. To be my friend. To comfort the hurt me inside.

We all deserve that. Beating up on the hurt us inside only leads us to feel that isolation, that loneliness, that desperate, deep sorrow.

I'm worthy and I am deserving of love and support....

And so are You

Thanks FreeOwl. I've been beating myself up with guilt, regret, and irritation at my bad decisions. These feelings seem to often go hand in hand with addictions. Your post was helpful to me and I'm sure to many others here.

I agree with FreeOwl: you (yes, you) are not an idiot, a loser, or a low life. You are a human being with worth.
