Sorry for the bad news but I can definitely relate. Even when things were darkest I knew alcohol would only make a bad situation worse.

Sorry to hear about your bad news and hope whatever it is you are able to deal with it.
Thnx for the share , you've been such a presence and inspiration in my time on SR. It's a comfort to see an "old timer" relate that thoughts can always crop up, but they remain just thoughts even if briefly intense and can be handle as such.
