This is really going to help me Dee! Thanks so much. |
Thank you, Dee! I've got avoidance down cold, but am currently working on "change how I see the situation." |
Thank you for all the help you give. :) |
I see that under the link the 4 ways to deal with stress, it takes us to the American Heart Association a well recognized, well funded and highly respected organization. Under two of the four parts of their outline in handling stress is meditation. I will say I consider myself very much a beginner at mediation, but the affects are indeed remarkable - I would venture to guess mediation is a common thread for many here on SR. For those who have not tried mediation, you don't have to be expert by any means to gain many benefits. Great thread Dee - thanks! |
Thank you Dee; this is very helpful. |
Definitely!!! Stress is part of life.... It comes in both positive and negative forms. For many years my response to stress was to try and ignore it until I needed to blot it out or blow it out.... That was usually done with ridiculous amounts of booze and drugs. Thanks for sharing these! |
do you mean positive stress as in 'eustress' FreeOwl? 2 Different Kinds of Stress Which Can Make-or-Break a Person Thanks - that led me into areas I'd forgotten about :) D |

Thank you very much, Dee. |
Stress is merely the wind of life. It's not something to fear or avoid. It's just something that IS. |
I think it's like any thing for guys like us Trach - too much of anything can be self destructive. I still have a lot of ups and downs in my life & things out of my control, but I'm nowhere near as stressed as I used to be. that's got to be a good thing to aim for, surely? :) D |
