Getting back on the bus Hi everybody, I'm a 23 year old guy that had a bit over 90 days up until about a month ago when I started to forsake all the things and routines that were keeping me sober. It's incredible how easy it is to become complacent with this disease, and how short our memories truly are to the devastation that drugs and alcohol causes in our lives. I've been sober since Sunday 5/31/15. I was ready to swallow a few Valiums (like I normally do with a devastating hangover), until my God of my understanding told me to get rid of the pills and go to sleep. Which I did. Today is a great day to be sober and live life. Have a great day everybody! |
:welcome Congratulations on staying sober since Sunday, and throwing out the Valium is AWESOME! |
Yeah its amazing how awesome you feel when you dont drink. It really makes you think hard why in the hell you decide to drink again when you feel this good! I fell into that trap too many times. Im happy you overcame your want to drink or pop a pill yesterday. |
Yes, this disease is relentless and I'm glad that you're back and working on your recovery. We do understand how hard this is. |
Welcome! :) This site has awesome support for getting sober. I hope we can help you get sober for good. :) |
The 90 day mark was where I got cocky two years ago, I slowly started with a glass of wine on occasion, then it went to often, then back to a few glasses daily. I am on day 16 today. |
