Flourless Chocolate Cake: The Epilogue

I'm mystified. When my co-worker brought this to work, it was definitely cake. Dense and moist, but not overly so.

Followed her recipe precisely, including refrigerating it overnight. My cake? It was like a chocolate custard. People liked it but it was definitely not what I expected. Weird!

Well, nothing ventured ... I've eaten way too many cookies and treats in the last two weeks. Starting Saturday, I'm repeating the first week of the Mayo Clinic Diet -- the tough week -- to compensate.

Ah well. Christmas is nearly over. It was our first since my father's death almost seven months ago. We got through it. It wasn't too bad. I'm kinda glad it's nearly over, though.

I am going to be alone NYE. I don't mind it. I never liked it much, even when drinking. I will curl up with a book or movie, and some tea or cocoa. I will definitely be checking in here, I am sure!

There were high chances I would have a friend for the New Year, but today she told she is not going to make it. And, honestly, I was glad. I don't know why - just want to be with my own company. And, SR, of course)

I will be here with you all, too. I am actually looking foward to it. Being sober for close to 11 months has made an incredible impact on my life. That is something to celebrate!!

I will be hiding in my room on NY eve because my family drinks. So, I'll be here with all of you. I am going to an AA breakfast and meeting on New Year's day. I am very grateful to have SR to contact because it is so lonely in this house.

I'll be going out for dinner but nothing more :)

I'll be here....I never did like going out on nye...I'll be home with my dogs and a hot chocolate. Probably will be asleep by 10. Mainly, I won't have a hangover on new years day. Yay!
