Merry Christmas to all!

I made a flourless chocolate cake, for the first time, to take to my brother's home later today. It is a recipe shared by a co-worker but it doesn't *look* like the one she brought in. At the moment, I'm trying to decide whether to bake the gingerbread mix sitting in my mother's cupboard as a just-in-case dessert.

Hi , all, again)

Chloe - I agree. Xmas seems to be turned into a very profitable commercial enterprise nowdays. Now, being sober, I can see what is what, and that I don't need anything but my inner dedication to feel the festive spirit.

Purple - Sounds like a great day for you!

As for me, I've been busy with different chores, and in just about an hour i am heading for a boxing workout. This time I am somewhat anxious, because I will do sparring with a girl from another club. And she is young and furious. And... well.. I hope i will be ok and put up a good show.

Merry Christmas to all!

LBrain, Venecia - Our posts crossed)

Venecia - Who cares how it looks, the matter is how it tastes!

Tonks 12-25-2014 06:59 AM

Midnight - Just be in the moment MB and let your body act for ya, sounds like you're thinking too much already about it. It's a spar! Have fun and be bold. You're one of us so I know you're damn strong.

Venecia - Flourless cake? Are you a wizard??

Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks, Midnight.

Time will tell, Tonks. I may be the Bellatrix Lestrange of dessert.

Ok, Christmasers)

I am back and still in one piece, but I "caught" a couple of quite heavy jabs.

The girl was just craaaaazy. And I, being so much older, was cautious - I am heavier and was concerned of hitting her too hard. But she was surely faster.

Well, quite and experience for a Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Glad to hear that you are "still in one piece"!

Count me in, I'll be alone for New Years. Well, if you don't count cats, and I kind of do.

MidnightBlue 12-25-2014 12:48 PM

Welcome, Nomis!

So, we are now rolling to sober Merry Happy New Year!

I'm alone and have no problems with it. Rode my bike to the trailor I'm gonna move into, built the bed frame and put the first coat of paint on it. I'm enjoying my Christmas and hope everyone else is as well. :egypt:

Sooo good to meet all you cat lovers...3 of the 4 are rescue kittens. The oldest one came with the boyfriend! "All My Children Have Paws!" Meow :)

I am alone right now as my two daughters are with their dad's family... and I prefer it this way. Both of them have been rather hurtful today and did not make my Christmas very merry. :( I'd much prefer being alone to being with them and hearing their complaints. :(

((least))

Moms and daughters/minefield.

I hope you can now relax. This is why we live alone, amirite?

I love animals they never ask if you want to get wasted.

BB, yes, my kids are a giant PITA this visit. I won't be able to relax until both of them have gone back to their own homes. Dk leaves tomorrow afternoon and ck leaves on Saturday. It was (sort of) nice to get to see them, but their behavior hasn't been too pleasant.

And yes, this is why I like living alone. Just me and my dogs and cats. And they never criticize me for anything. :)

Soberpotamus 12-25-2014 02:13 PM

Merry Christmas, y'all :)

Just watched "Scrooged" whilst snacking on shortbread, potato chips and fudge. I just threw my Levi's on to go shovel some snow off the deck. Ya...enough with the holiday eating lol.

Hoping my fellow solo holiday friends are enjoying some soulful solitude.

sthlondonab 12-25-2014 03:58 PM

Hey all

Thanks for this thread today.

I had a wonderful day. My mini roast dinner came out great. Watched TV, snacked, did some FaceTime and Skype. Went for a long long walk and as a bonus my local Starbucks was open (unheard of on xmas day) so I even got a real coffee!

Very grateful to be sober. Definitely the right choice to batten down the hatches and focus on just me at this stage in my recovery this holiday (nearly 5 months since my last drink)

Hope other SR solo friends here have had a nice day too.

I will be on my own for NYE too but going away.
