I'm back and on day 1

Hi everyone

Haven't been on for a while and have been drinking a bottle of wine a night again and not even enjoying it. Had some family issues and stupidly thought that wine would help which of course it didn't :gaah

So I'm back to the beginning, I have a date for an op beginning feb and really need to lose weight and get healthy before that to reduce risks of anything going wrong.

My son needs me and I need to be around for as long as possible for him :)

I've cancelled xmas party this month so don't have any occasions coming up where I would be tempted to drink. Really hope I can do it this time.

I know you can do it Mavis!

Day 1 is a wonderful new beginning. ♥
Sending you love,

Hi!
Ugh, wine seems so innocent!! It's my poison, my usual was 1-2 bottles a couple- a few times a week.
Best wishes xoxo

Welcome back Mavis.
The next time something gives you the 'wobbles" like your family issues did, what will you do differently?

Mountainmanbob 12-11-2014 09:25 PM

Keep coming back

it works -- if -- you work it

Welcome back, Mavis. Wine--what a seemingly innocuous nemesis! My family can send me round the bend too.
Good job getting back on the horse!

Ah, a glass of wine curled up on the coach watching tv or cooking or talking to friends or surfing the web. The very picture of a peaceful content life. Unless you are an alcoholic....in which case there is no difference between that and lying in the gutter with a cheap bottle of vodka. Play the tape forward, both stories end up with the same ending.

oh yea!! family can put me in orbit.....arrrgh.....

but I'm slowly learning to maintain my peace of mind -- and not Drink At Them.

Thanks for posting, I've been there and done that.

All the best Mavis. Glad you came back.

Mavis,

It's so good to see you back :grouphug:

Do you have a solid recovery plan in place for yourself ? Some tools in your toolbox to combat cravings in these initial days ?

And how are your adorable kitties doing ?

SO glad you're back and starting again Mavis, you've made a wonderful decision. How are the kittens? :)

Hey Mavis! Welcome back! I know the last time you were here, you were having a friend come over who was bringing a bottle of wine. Can you make your house an alcohol free zone? I really think that might help you. Tweak your plan and stick around. You can do this!
