Countrygirl, you are doing great.

I'm glad you were firm in your decision to leave your job. Better things will come along. Good luck with your meeting today. :)

countrygirl2014 12-11-2014 10:11 AM

Thanks everyone. I have been very emotional today. It's time to lie down and let sleep do some healing.

Hey - I think that took so much courage! I'm glad your grand sponsor was there for you.

countrygirl2014 12-11-2014 10:44 AM

Me too Lola. She is very good. It took her all of 10 maybe 15 minutes to get me out of my head. I'm glad in these in between sponsor phases I have her.

it's not a good idea to ever quit a job without giving notice I'm sorry that you did that

just because we are sober it does not mean that we cannot make some bad decisions

Now this is faith. I have no doubt you will be abundantly provided for.

I know it is scary to quit a job, I've done it! Kudos to you for taking care of yourself. Hope you find a much better job situation soon :)

I was a bartender/ cook who got paid with free alcohol and tips. My 6 year old daughter had to go with me for at least an hour everyday and witness some harsh stuff until my significant other came to pick her up. The only reason I took the job was to support my habit. I agree, I should have had something lined up. This is NOT the way I was raised. I have never up and walked out of any job. I'm sorry, I'm defensive on this one. I think with my significant other as a contractor in his own business we can lose the extra 200.00 bucks a week. Besides, how long can I sit here saying I'm going to find something better and continue. I have an active electric license and fire alarm certifications...why am I still cooking fryer food at a bar for pocket change?

OMG! I LITERALLY just called a handyman type person to come to my place tomorrow to look at some faulty outlets AND the firealarm that is attached to the ceiling somehow that just randomly stopped working. Now if only I could get you to my neck of the woods.... :) I will pay you in tea and ice cream (SR favorites).

I promise I'm not making light of your situation. Just wanted to say that your skills seem in HIGH demand and I hope you find something that suits you better that being a fryer cook.

Arbor 12-11-2014 12:50 PM

Yeah I think mostly everybody here looked at your situation in a positive way CG. If you were still drinking you most likely would have never had the courage to stand up for yourself and move on from what sounds like a dead end job. Good for you!

countrygirl2014 12-11-2014 12:56 PM

Awww Lola, I would gladly help you. You can make light of it. It looks like my weepy mood turned to an angry mood. Sorry mountain man. I'm all over the place today.
Actually I would love it if it were joked about. I am WAY too emotional today and can't seem to pull it together.

countrygirl2014 12-11-2014 01:05 PM

((Arbor)) thanks.

This is crazy. It's like I woke up from a 25 year coma.
