My first career was an entertainment finance exec. My second career, for the past 3 years, is a chef. I haven't cooked anything with wine since my sober date, but I imagine I'll need to sooner or later - just need to get strong enough first.

I whole-heartedly agree. Just look at the brilliant writers who were alcoholics.

I'm a freelance writer at the moment. I used to be a university lecturer but had to stop because of anxiety - it became a giant, daily trigger and I was a nervous wreck. My husband's a university lecturer and handles it just fine. I used to have regrets about quitting, but now I'm happy that I'm out of it. I wouldn't want to spend my life doing something that made me so unhappy.

Used to work in an office as finance/commercial assistant, was there 12 years then gave it up to be a carer for my great aunt until I had my son, now I'm a carer for him. When he was a baby I worked as receptionist part time but had to give that up due to all his appointments.

In my spare time i remodel, improve my house with all the $$ i save by not drinking.

Own and run a clothing label

Apprentice dog groomer. Right now, i bathe, do minor grooming and spend a lot of time practicing and learning. Every day, i practice love and tolerance in critters that simply do not like what i do. I work in an environment that constantly stresses my love and tolerance of both animals and people. I work hard to be an agent of peace to everyone i come across, human and canine.

I may not remember you. I may or may not remember your dog. No matter what, i will set aside my anger, frustration and fear every damn day to be the most peaceful, helpful and informative friend both you and your pet come across today. I don't want your money or your accolades. I just want to be honest and to do my best. I hope every pet parent i send home feels that.

Teacher by trade but I've mostly been a stay at home mom. Then I taught pre-school, and now I sub teach. :)

I have been a night shift worker on a newspaper printing line, an office worker in government, a student, an academic, a proofreader, and a musician - both in gigs and sessions. Volunteered in a few places too.

I still play music, and now I do this....

Totally JEALOUS!!!

I'm a CSR for a cell phone company, I get to work from home. Not the greatest pay, but I'm happy and like Suki said my other job was very stressful which was not good for my addiction. I have no regrets leaving it even though it was good pay.
