Hello Friends :-)

I'm not a "newcomer" per se. But I have been gone a while, so I wanted to re-introduce myself. My name is Suzi, I'm an alcoholic. I'm recommitted to my sobriety and working on bettering myself everyday. I didn't hit a rock bottom, But I see what alcohol has done to someone I love and I know I can end up there. I want to be pro-active in my recovery.

Hope to reconnect with old friends, make new ones as well :-)

Our bottom is when we come the end of our drinking days. They are all different! Glad yours at this stage is still high. That is grace - remember it!

Good for you on quitting before that bottom gets lower, lower, lower........

Awesome!

Welcome back, Suzi!

I very much respect your pragmatism when viewing the effects alcohol has on someone else in your life. I think that it's very admirable to work toward recovery without hitting a "rock bottom". You might not have this emotionally tumultuous memory as a reference to remind you of the destructiveness of alcohol, but that's because you're awesome enough to see where the path leads before traveling far down it.

And thanks for the awesome link, soberwolf!

Watching my mother spiral in her alcoholism, is what brought me to my sobriety. All things can be turned for good . . . . welcome back!

That was the case here as well Double Dragon. Seeing what your future can actually be, it's scary.
