I think the donation suggestion is a great idea too. In time, you may want to tell them that you gave up drinking. Maybe say for health reasons. You don't need to give further explanation. I suspect that the issue will come up again since you work in a bar. You just simply don't drink anymore. Have a great birthday! |
Happy birthday Tara! And thanks guys. |
I actually changed my destination. I visited the wildlife rehab center today and the whole park is amazing! I figured if I got personal with the animals there, I would feel terrible even accepting a drink. I'm trying to stay one step ahead of my demon. I met a bald eagle today. He also can't "fly" because if what he is going through. The donated money helps feed him and fix him. |
Wow brilliant idea!! Let us know how much you end up collecting and a big fat HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! |
Thank you so much Maverick for this! |

Say you are giving up alcohol for your birthday for charity. Every time someone offers to buy you a drink say you would like a donation instead. Have a pot behind the bar and make a thing out of it with all the customers. You could even keep a tally of the drinks people would have brought you and write them on a list, that way people can see how much you would have drank and also what it all would have cost. Put in some money you would have spent on drinks for yourself too :-) At the end of the night you should have a decent amount and can then pass it onto a good cause. No lies being told and anyone that thinks you getting pissed is more important than giving it to charity can sod off :-) Wow, I never thought about that. Brilliant! |
