Day 13 - successful sober weekend :)

Hey all – I just wanted to check in as I haven’t posted in a few days.

I had a great sober weekend! Well – I was sick for the first half of it with some cold/flu thing, which wasn’t fun….

But Sunday made up for it! I went to the gym, got a killer workout in. Relaxed with my puppy dog & got some snuggles in. Went to my in-laws house for dinner & stuffed my face with chicken & stuffing & mashed potatoes & gravy. Then I finished off the day with a meeting!

I didn’t wake up hungover once, I accomplished the things that needed to be accomplished, and I didn’t pass out unconscious in a pool of vomit once. This is a major improvement from a couple of weeks ago!

Planning on attending a meeting every night this week & hopefully do some step work with my sponsor.

It’s snowing here today in lovely Northern Alberta :| OK – summer is OFFICIALLY over!!!!!!!! Bring on the pumpkin spiced lattes & extra blankets!

That's fantastic news Mrrryah. You have come such a long way, and should be very proud of yourself.

What an awesome weekend eh M?
to be able to fully enjoy every second of it? Time with pets and family?
It's so nice to read you full of positivity :D keep it up sister

Keep it up. Weekends are challenging early on. Exercise is also a great benefit physically, mentally, and emotionally. Change is never easy, but you're on your way.

exercise has been my saviour through these early months. Even my 30min walk into work changes my entire attitude. It doesn't have to be extreme, cardio killer workouts...just a nice casual walk can turn my frown upside down :D

^^^^^ Walking is how I started off. I'm a huge advocate for it. Walking for 30-60 minutes will change how you think in a more positive/creative way. Try it, you'll eventually see what I mean. I'm fairly athletic these days, but I still walk (I did yesterday) for the effect it has on my thinking.
