New - ABF/Drug Addicted BF & Codependency
 

Hi all, thanks for having me here! It has been 3 weeks since I have heard from my alcoholic and drug-addicted BF. I moved to NYC to be with him and he has totally disappeared. I have started in Al-Anon, but need a forum on the side as well. Feel free to contact me if you have been in a similar situation, I could use some stories.

I personally haven't been in a similar situation, but it does sound quite a bit much for him to expect you to stick around after being missing for 3 weeks, has he done this before?

Thank you Purpleknight! Yes, he has done this, goes missing sometimes for a few months with no explanation, but never while we were living together. I think he knows I'll stick around, but I am trying to learn to distance myself and make better decisions. Thanks for the welcome!

Oh, my.... Praying that he returns safe.

It may be time to reassess your situation, though. I can't imagine wanting to go through months of worry on and off throughout your life.
