day 22

Never thought I'd make day 22! I know some people think it's "cheating" to rely on the antabuse, and maybe it is a crutch of sorts but if that is what it takes to get me to day 22 and beyond I'll take it. I can't say I haven't missed drinking my wine, I really craved it yesterday when I finished a big project that I had been putting off for months. Normally I would sit on my porch swing in the beautiful weather, read my book, and have a couple of glasses of wine (which probably would lead to more but at first it would be lovely), but since that was out of the question, I didn't dwell on it. My daughter told me yesterday that she was proud of me for making the decision to take the antabuse. Not a miracle cure by any means, but takes the whole matter of "choice" out of the equation.:c014:

Hi Vicky, I think (I'm not medical person) it is a drug that if you take any alcohol you will get violently sick by vomiting etc. and the fact that you know it will make you ill makes it clear that under no circumstances can you drink ANY ALCOHOL.

It's a prescribed medicine Vicky so you'd need to talk to your Dr about it, especially if you're on other meds.

It's not suitable for everyone.
