Let's make a supposition. Let's pretend that you really don't know if you have a drinking problem or not. I pretended that the first 3 months I quit. I decided to try sobriety to do an honest comparison of which way life was better. I told myself I had to give it a "fair try". I had drunk alcohol regularly for 27 years, so a few days/weeks/months was not really a fair comparison, but I forced myself to try 3-4 months because most people on this forum said this was the time period that sobriety became easier and more "real" to them. I am now going on 8 months sober and I have no desire to go back to the drinking life. My experiment proved that sobriety is a much better path to life and to being fully alive!
