Need help

Hi guys. I've never done this before. I'm destroying my life. My girlfriend wants to leave me. I've gone a couple weeks with out a drop. Lately I've been drinking a Mickey at work. No one has busted me yet. I'm in good shape and look good for the crap I'm putting my body through. Just looking for some advise. Thanks

Welcome! Lots of support and advice here.

I'm still learning and struggling but it gets better with time.

Drinking was negatively affecting my life and my marriage to. It robs you...but you don't have to let it.

Welcome Crown
Hate to be bearer of bad news but if that continues, @ some point will be nabbed & there goes the job & other things have worked so hard for. Get some help if can eg aa. I can identify coz used to drink sometimes @ work but disease progressed worse to where couldn't drive anymore so lost house & job.
You can do it! Simply get the help & life will be more rewarding than that bottle

Welcome, Crownlink!

SR is a great place for support.

Have you talked to your doctor about this yet?

Welcome to sr, Crownlink. Lots of information and experience here.

My husband didn't like me drinking and I tried to hide it but they know just after one drink he could tell.

Your girlfriend probably does too, but heed what 1newcreation says, if anyone knows you well at work they may suspect, forgetting all about the dangers etc, you could lose your job, then it may be your girlfriend.

Stick with us, stop now before that slope gets very slippery. All the best.

How can you go a couple of weeks without a drop and have a Mickey at work?

Crownlink 04-04-2014 02:14 AM

Taking5. I was going to say some defensive things to you. I won't now. I guess I tried to give it up and then it beat me. That's all I have for now

Crown link, the cravings come and go at different strengths, recognising them and having a plan really helps you get through

Dee74 04-04-2014 02:39 AM

I got what you meant Crownlink, even if I had to look up 'mickey' :)

If you haven't a clear idea where to start, why not check out our Class of April support thread and if you like it, just jump right in :)
