Wow, that's so crazy.. :c029:

The addict part of me wants to feel like crap and dwell on the fact that I wasted my "teenage years" getting loaded and messing up my life.

But the recovering part of me feels empowered at the fact that I've cleaned up my life and will be entering "adulthood" with 4 months of sobriety. (my sobriety date is also on tuesday.. coincident? I think not.)

I am excited to continue on this journey of recovery with you all. Thanks for all your love and support. :)

I think there's probably several hundred people here who wished they'd gotten clean and sober at 17 Jake :)

It's a great achievement and you should be proud of it :)

Jake my sober date is a Tuesday-a coincidence, I think not
I'll have 6 weeks sober on Tuesday.
I'll be 55 on Tues. yes Tuesday the 18th is our birthday.

Yes, I'm still in rehab.. I'm getting better at accepting that I'm there. I'm trying not to obsess over when I'll get out, so I try to keep it in today and focus on staying sober.

I spent 34 years of pain and suffering past 18 before I sobered up. Don't be in rush to get out of rehab. The real world has a lot more challenges in it.
