Gonna be the big 18 on tuesday..

Wow, that's so crazy..

The addict part of me wants to feel like crap and dwell on the fact that I wasted my "teenage years" getting loaded and messing up my life.

But the recovering part of me feels empowered at the fact that I've cleaned up my life and will be entering "adulthood" with 4 months of sobriety. (my sobriety date is also on tuesday.. coincident? I think not.)

I am excited to continue on this journey of recovery with you all. Thanks for all your love and support.

Jake

I think there's probably several hundred people here who wished they'd gotten clean and sober at 17 Jake

It's a great achievement and you should be proud of it

Happy Birthday for next week!

Well happy birthday to you!

Yes, I'm still in rehab.. I'm getting better at accepting that I'm there. I'm trying not to obsess over when I'll get out, so I try to keep it in today and focus on staying sober.

Hey Jake ,
I had 20 years of pain and confusion ahead of me when i was 17 , you have the potential to have 20 years of clarity avoiding that , that's glorious .

Keep on

Bestwishes, m

I spent 34 years of pain and suffering past 18 before I sobered up. Don't be in rush to get out of rehab. The real world has a lot more challenges in it.

Happy birthday and stay sober
