End of day one I've always been a heavy drinker, but the last four months I'd been drinking every day. Finally realized that this isn't who I want to be. My body isn't so thrilled about the idea right now, and I feel like death warmed over. I look forward to the insight of SR's members. I know you people have seen some **** and managed to come through it. |
Hi Memn0ch :) Welcome aboard. If you feel really poorly, seeing a Dr is the way to go. Detox can be rough for some of us. You'll find a lot of support here. Check out our Class of February support thread too: http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...art-2-a-6.html D |
Welcome. We are here for the same reasons. Try to keep a full belly it help me the first few days and it helps me with the cravings. |
Welcome Really think it's a good idea to see a Dr and get something to smooth out the first five days or so. Best wishes |
Oh Yeah I ate enough carbs to choke an ox for the first month. Food really helps, I can't drink on a full stomach. Also found L-Glutamine (from health food shops) really seems to dampen down cravings. |
Welcome xxx |
:welcome I hope the support you'll find here will help you stay sober for good. :) |
it does get better. I too was a heavy daily drinker. I am now 18 days sober and I feel great. I actually don't even crave alcohol like I did. I just found things that interest me and it has worked. Hang in there...you can do it!! |
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I will definitely try out the heavy carb thing once it is a little easier to hold down food. |
Welcome to the Forum!! Plenty of fresh air used to keep me sane, if feeling awful, i'd go for a long walk, pop in some ipod tunes and just ride it out!! :) |
