Just barely hanging on

I have been having trouble a work for the last couple of months. It has been on my mind a lot.

Today, sunday I just got hit with a wave of anxiety and despondency about my position. I've had it for hours and I just want it to pass.

I'm day 24 by the way.:headbange

What kind of trouble? Related to your drinking?

Tang 01-26-2014 09:45 AM

Work has been especially anxiety producing for me as well. Although I can't separate reality with work from anxiety from recovery.

Breathe. Take a long walk. When I get anxiety like that, I try to focus on doing rather than thinking. Sunday work anxiety is a killer for me at times too - I understand how crippling it can be, but try, try, try to let some of it go. Thinking won't change it. Hang in there.

No, I failed a kind of loyalty test with my boss. He has his foot on my throat.

I'd say indirectly linked to drink in that my thinking wasn't straight to go against my organisation.:headbange

I'm sorry for the work problem Finnie.

When things at work cause me concern or cause me to worry it helps to reassure myself that things will always work out in the end. If I continue to remain focused, work hard and put forth my best effort, then things will turn out positively. Things may not always turn out the way I thought they would or hoped they would but they always seem to work out. And sometimes, better than I ever imagined.

Finnie, don't let the issue at work upset your sobriety.

Finnie,

I'm sending good vibes and some extra prayers your way for figuring it out.

Stay sober and that will help as well!

Good luck. Now try and relax tonight.
