Hi just wanting to talk with people as I'm so messed up.
Sick of being like this.

This is the right place. We are all struggling with the same disease you are.

prospectkid 01-14-2014 08:25 AM

Take it easy. Go to an AA meeting near you. Breath deeply. Life will now get better for you.

Welcome!

Thank you all. Got home this morning & drank a can of warm lager that has been in my cupboard for days. I'm disgusted in myself, hate this crap.
So sick of it all.

dbj4190 01-14-2014 08:45 AM

Welcome! We are all here for support or even just to listen if you need to talk and let things out!

kflee 01-14-2014 08:45 AM

Glad you are here. Instead of being disgusted with self for drinking the lager, celebrate that you will not continue to drink today.

Welcome Yassy

FamilyMan2153 01-14-2014 08:49 AM

Hang tough Yassy. This is the start of yoru journey. Have you tried to quit before?

yassy 01-14-2014 08:56 AM

Not tried to quit before, but have got to do it.
It's messed my life up I ruined my job, my best friend says I'm evil when I drink, I turn into a vile person & that's not me deep down.
I have stomach ulcer because of it. Does anyone else get really bad pains in your stomach?
I'm 24 but feel so old & ill all the time.

Skye2 01-14-2014 08:59 AM

Have you had the pains diagnosed or are you guessing it's an ulcer - a good check-up might not be a bad idea at this point.

PurpleKnight 01-14-2014 09:51 AM

Welcome to the Forum yassy!!

Yeah I quit drinking due to pains in the abdomen, though best to get checked out as to what they actually are!! :)

I'm the same age as you and I had bad pains in my stomach all the time when I was drinking. I had a whole bunch of serious problems that are only mending themselves now because ive stopped drinking and if I start again things will get bad fast. I had bleeding ulcers too and it made me collapse, you should really go get it checked out.

I turned miserable and angry when drunk too. It all gets much better when you stop, honestly. Sobriety isnt as boring as I thought it was when I was drunk all the time.

Hope you feel better soon

x

Ah thank you all for being so nice!
So good to be able to speak to you all.
Yes I got diagnosed with stomach ulcer.
Been on medication for it, but still get bad pains.
I'm waiting for my appointment with alcohol team as they get a doctor to assess my health.

Welcome Yassy,

I'm new to this forum as well. I can relate to the warm lager...I would stash half drunk beers in closets or behind the couch and finish them off the next day... :disappoin
One of the many things that made me realize I was going off the deep end..
I'm on my 2nd attempt to quit drinking now, I made it two weeks and now I'm back to day one.. As scary as it was in the beginning I went to my doctor and told him everything, how much how often and how long... got a complete physical and went from there..
I suggest getting those stomach pains checked out...and keep posting. You'll find much wisdom, inspiration and help on here if you're truly looking for it.
